The UNO Counseling and Career Center professional staff members are licensed practitioners. These highly-trained professionals are experienced in the assessment and treatment of college students with situational stressors and career concerns, as well as more severe mental illnesses. Advanced graduate students from regional universities enrolled in various behavioral disciplines are affiliated with the UNO Counseling and Career Center office. These interns function as counseling staff during a respective practicum and/or internship, and are supervised by licensed social workers, psychologists and/or professional counselors.
Barbara S. Mitchell, Ph.D., LCSW, LMFT
Director
Barbara S. Mitchell, Ph.D. (Tulane University School of Social Work) and MS Health Care Management (University of New Orleans) is the Director of the UNO Counseling and Career Center. She obtained accreditation for the center in 1995 from the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS). Dr. Mitchell is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and marriage and family therapist (LMFT) as well as an approved supervisor for these professions. She is also a court approved mediator with the Louisiana Family Mediation Council for family disputes and juvenile mediation. Dr. Mitchell has extensive experience as a generalist mental health practitioner with a strong interest in student mental health, student affairs, professional education, and program development.

Rosamond Myers, Ph.D.
Assistant Director and Director of Clinical Training
Rosamond Myers, Ph.D. (University of Southern Mississippi) is the Assistant Director of the UNO Counseling and Career Center and serves as Training Director for the masters level internship program offered by Counseling Services. Earlier in her professional life, Dr. Myers worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, but since 1991 has chosen to devote her career to working with college students in university counseling center settings. As a clinician, Dr. Myers is a generalist, and works with a wide variety of student concerns. This is an ideal match for her interests as she enjoys assisting students from various walks of life address and successfully meet developmental, academic, and personal life challenges. Additionally, Dr Myers enjoys her supervisory role with young professionals in training, and working with them to develop their professional competencies and identities. She has supervised students at the masters, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels in various mental health fields.

Adrian C. Péré, MSW, GSW
Counselor and Coordinator of Outreach
Mr. Péré earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Tulane University in May 2007. Mr. Péré has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sexual identity, and communication, with a focus on the influence of developmental issues on interpersonal relationships and overall personal well-being. Additionally, Mr. Péré has worked in the areas of crisis intervention, community organization and outreach, psychoeducational programming, and diversity awareness. He is currently pursuing licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Social Work under the supervision of Barbara Mitchell, PhD, Director of the UNO Counseling and Career Center.

Jennifer Johnson
Administrative Assistant
As Administrative Assistant, Ms. Johnson will likely be your first contact with the UNO Counseling and Career Center. Ms. Johnson's goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment while explaining our services, scheduling appointments, and handling the day-to-day operations of the UNO Counseling and Career Center office.
Jason Ferris
MSW Intern
Jason Ferris is a MSW candidate at Tulane's School of Social Work with an anticipated graduation date of December 2009. Mr. Ferris graduated from Davidson College in 1999 with a BA in English. He also holds a Masters of Divinity degree, with a focus in psychoanalysis, from Union Theological Seminary in New York. His professional interests include individual, couples, and family counseling. Mr. Ferris is supervised by Barbara Mitchell, PhD.
Keri Krycki
MSW Intern
Keri Krycki is a MSW candidate studying at Tulane University School of Social Work with an anticipated graduation date of December 2009. Ms. Krycki graduated from the University of New Orleans in August 2008 with a degree in Political Science. Her professional interests include individual counseling, crisis intervention, and disaster mental health. Ms. Krycki is supervised by Rosamond Myers, PhD.
